mamma
so today is my mamma birthday and words will never describe what i think of her but maybe this little poem will let you know what kind of woman she is.
selfless and gentle,
you love me so well.
when i encounter struggles and fears
its you i can tell.
you listen, and love,
and point me to Truth.
sharing mistakes,
and from experiences of your youth.
a spunky babe,
who can shake her groove thing.
your beauty exudes,
inside to out.
your joy is evident,
your heart oozes with selflessness,
your laughter permeates through room.
students pullulate,
becoming trees of knowledge and love.
students, and collegues alike,
are simply eager to explore your your heart and mind,
to see that which makes you simply inspiring.
sweetly comforting me,
when my heart is weary,
when i am broken and afraid.
fervently pursuing our Father,
day in and day out.
when needing love, advice, or encouragement,
it is you i look to, mom,
a joyful, selfless, gentle-loving,
woman after our Kings heart.
